Electronic Planners Work Well if You Need Alarms
Some people just don’t find paper planners to be helpful, or maybe you need reminders and alarms frequently throughout the day. In that case, an electronic planner on your phone or your computer might be the way to go. Whatever it is that you use, it needs to be something that you find helpful and that you can stick with for the long term.
Work on Avoiding Putting Things Off
If you’re someone who tends to put things off, you might find that procrastination doesn’t help you to feel confident and competent as a caregiver. Developing habits that are anti-procrastination isn’t always easy, but it’s something that you can do if you stick with it.
Don’t Store Things in Your Brain
It might have been easy in the past to “store” everything you need in your brain. This means not just appointments and deadlines, but all sorts of other bits of information, too. When you get busier and busier, it’s much more difficult for your brain to keep track of all of those details and you are more likely to find things slipping through the cracks. Writing important information down helps a lot.
Get Some Extra Help
You don’t have to be a lone caregiver completely on your own. In fact, that can be incredibly exhausting and even dangerous for you. As you have more help and you get more organized, you’re going to find it much easier to keep up with everything that needs to be done.
