Many restaurant franchises offer significant discounts for seniors. These vary from state to state and need to be verified at each individual location. To name a few of such restaurants: Applebee’s, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Denny’s and Outback Steakhouse. Even some grocery store chains such as Albertson’s and Fred Meyer’s offer discounts for seniors on certain days of the week.
Housing
For those seniors that need to save a little money when it comes to housing, there is low cost to totally supplemented housing options available. There are affordable communities throughout the United States geared for seniors as well as HUD subsidized housing.
Recreation
Major theme parks and movie theatres often offer discounts to those 65 and over. AARP membership comes with special discounts. Many communities will offer tickets to seniors for special events in the performing arts, museums, and local attractions free of charge or available at a steep discount.
